I co-authored the FAO’s first study on the use of blockchain technology in seafood value chains with my friend and fisheries expert Francisco Blaha.
Who would’ve thought? Someone from a tiny country like Fiji in the middle of the Pacific writing about blockchain.
In the study I provide an overview of the technology, how it can be integrated into seafood value chains, and operational considerations of its use.
I also summarise several real-world applications of the technology in various seafood projects around the world.
